Don’t Break The Chain
My life changed when I read an article about Jerry Seinfeld and the power of commitment. Jerry shared how he writes one joke every day and marks an “X” on his calendar to keep the streak going.
The goal wasn’t really about writing jokes—it was about never breaking the chain of X’s. That simple idea stuck with me, and I decided to try it myself.
I started making one commitment a year, like studying Warren Buffett & the stock market, Thich Nhat Hanh & mindfulness, and John Mayer & guitar, and marking an “X” each day I followed through.
Over time, those little actions added up, and now I have over 3,000 X’s in a row. That streak has transformed my habits, boosted my confidence, and taught me the power of compounding.
My First 25 Years
The first 25 years of my life were all about basketball. From carrying a ball everywhere I went to playing at Gonzaga University, basketball taught me life lessons that I still carry with me today.
It taught me the value of hard work, commitment, and teamwork, and it gave me lifelong friendships that continue to enrich my life. Those years on the court shaped who I am and laid the foundation for everything I’ve done since.
As my basketball career was winding down, I realized my passion was shifting. I had always been fascinated by how strength, conditioning, and nutrition could make athletes better, and I wanted to help others.
My Last 25 Years
This passion led me to become the Director of Performance & Nutrition at Gonzaga, where I spent the next 20+ years helping athletes reach their full potential.
Gonzaga is a special place because their focus has always been on helping athletes succeed not just on the court, but also in the classroom and in the community. My favorite part of each basketball season was the bond created with the staff and players.
As my performance training career was winding down, my interest in finances continued to grow. While founding a small business, building a real estate portfolio, and managing money started simply as a way to finance my love of strength & conditioning, it has now transformed into my main passion.
My Next 25 Years
Now, as I look ahead to the next 25 years, my love for coaching remains strong, but my focus has shifted. I want to help people build wealth, health, and happiness.
I’m excited to begin this new chapter as a financial advisor at TEN Capital, where I can use my experiences to guide others in creating their financial legacies.
If you or your loved ones are looking for support in building a secure and prosperous future, I’d love to help. Join me on a journey of compounding wealth, health, and happiness!
